Forest of Bowland Cottages:
Things to do, Places to visit
Set in the beautiful unspoilt Forest of Bowland, Hydes Farm is ideally located for visiting the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Walking and cycling are well catered for with Gisburn Forest being on the doorstep and is a safe haven for children and also has man-made mountain bike tracks. Fell walking is also very popular for the more experienced walker. In spring watch the lambs bouncing and playing in the sunshine, or try bird watching or fishing.
Nearby is Stocks Reservoir which anglers are invited to visit and the market towns of Clitheroe, Settle and Skipton are all within easy reach and there are lots of picturesque villages steeped in history literally on the doorstep.
Famous Pendle Hill which is the home of the notorious Lancashire Witches is only a few miles away and offers tourists the opportunity to follow the Pendle Witch Trail from Pendle Hill to Lancaster where they were sentenced to death in 1612.
